His son, Elvin, gave it to his son, A. J. DeVorss, who very generously gave it to Pat Frunzi, the contributor to this World Connect file. Not only does the book have names and dates, but contains some of Charley's thoughts on the family. For instance, he writes upon the death of his mother, "I have lost my best and dearest friend."</div> <bR> <div> Charley and Nettie separated between 1910 and 1913. Charley was living in Joplin, Jasper Co., MO in 1924 when his father died. His brother James was there also. </div> <bR> <div> He suffered a heart attack coming out of a restaurant in San Francisco on Thanksgiving Day. H. Somer's Grand Heights, an addition to the city of St. Joseph, MO. DeVorss, left the family between 1910 and 1913.
